India is a very important offline market. We appointed World Connect as our GSA in November 2002. They used fresh approach and brought in their experience to market US Airways in India. Their efforts have paid off. In May this year India became our largest supporting market for offline sales for Trans Atlantic flights.

When World Connect was appointed, US Airways was known in the market as a small domestic carrier in the United States while in actuality it was one of the largest carriers in the world with a transatlantic presence. Through sales visits, travel agency support and marketing , World Connect has changed the perception of US Airways to that of an international carrier. This has also pushed a large percentage of ticket sales on the transatlantic network which increased yields for the company. This shift has generated excellent results for US Airways – between the initial contract signing date and 2007 World Connect increased sales by almost 900%. This is a record for any GSA.
